About FLAG

How it all started...

If you watch the news, you know that all around the country local hospitals are inundated with patients and local restaurants are hurting for patronage. This idea was inspired by a group of moms in Chatham and Madison, NJ who wanted to help both groups.

Local healthcare teams are working 12 hour shifts, often in isolation without the ability to run to the cafeteria to grab something to eat and often time passes without these selfless individuals even realizing they have not had time to eat.  If we fuel their bodies with good food and show our collective appreciation, we help everyone! This effort has been named "FLAG" which stands for Front Line Appreciation Group. 

I plan to find out how we, the community, are able to best support of the needs of our front line heroes. If you know of a group of Front Line heroes, who could use some appreciation, please reach out and let me know. The coming weeks will be critical in containing the exposure and treating those with COVID-19. Let's come together as a community to take care of these front line heroes!

March 26th was our first delivery. Villagio Iccara here in the Yardville section of Hamilton immediately said yes, when asked if they would be interested in partnering with this community effort. Owner, Giovanni Balsalmo graciously offered to cover the cost of our first food delivery. Other Hamilton restaurants are needed to support this initiative, so if you are a restaurant owner or know one, please check us out and get in touch with me at your earliest convenience. Time is of the essence with this project.
